Synchronization Programs

Maximizing pregnancy production requires prompt service and conception. The key opportunity for producers lies in improving service or submission rates, through visual heat detection and/or synchronization programs.

Through the strategic use of the following supplemental hormones, prostaglandin, gonadatropin releasing hormone and/or progesterone, synchronization programs increase the number of eligible animals during a time period, decreasing labor requirements and shortening the breeding window.

The following factors determine which synchronization program should be implemented:

  •          Age of animals
  •          Handling system
  •          Labor availability
  •          Management style
