Real World Data Symposium
ABS GLOBAL HOSTS REAL WORLD DATASM BEEF SYMPOSIUM
Over 100 ABS Representatives and Employees experienced first-hand the strength and reliability of exclusive progeny test and feed efficiency data this fall. During the first ABS Real World Data SM Symposium in Columbia, Missouri the group toured seed stock producers and Circle A Feeders The symposium provided the opportunity to learn how ABS is making an impact on the beef industry through its efforts and investment to progeny test sires and providing relevant data beyond breed association EPDs.
Visiting Circle A Feeders was a highlight for many. Circle A Feeders is a state of the art feedlot that works hard not only to provide reliable data but also to achieve cattle comfort and environmental protection.
Beef Product Manager, Doug Frank stated, “There are unique, leading edge developments going on within the ABS Beef Program and it is critical that our Representative force and support staff understand the value is real world, high accuracy data can deliver to our customers and the industry as a whole.”
The two and a half day event also included discussions about the continued growth and development of the ABS Beef Supply Chain, along with presentations from the American Angus Association COO Bill Bowman, American Simmental Association Executive Vice President, Jerry Lipsey and American Hereford Association Executive Vice President and CEO, Craig Huffines. The current bull line-up was reviewed and progeny groups were seen at Sydenstricker Genetics and Frank/Hazelrigg Cattle Co. The participants also had the opportunity to refine their skills with a reproductive and synchronization update from Dr. Cliff Lamb.
