Calf Dehorning
Farmers know the benefits of removing the horns at the calf stage. ABS Australia staff, who are professional and trained, have been offering this service for many years. It is preferred that calves be dehorned at less than 8 weeks of age for ease of handling and as an animal welfare consideration.
Heavy duty LPG debudders are used which maintain the required temperature even in cold conditions. Dehorning is completed in 5 or 6 seconds, cauterizing the skin around the horn bud.
