The ABS Progeny Test Young Sire (PT) program can put your herd a generation ahead of others, by allowing you to sample future A.I. genetics today. ABS samples genetics from outstanding bloodlines both within and outside of the United States. How can YOU take advantage of the benefits offered through the ABS PT program? Contact your ABS Representative. They will walk you through the process and initiate your first order of young sire semen. You have two ordering options--you can let the computer randomly choose the semen for your herd, or you can choose the young sires yourself.
Benefits you'll receive as an ABS PT Herd:
- Payment for each PT bull or heifer calf born in the herd
- Payment for each PT-sired daughter included on the sire's first or second USDA sire summary
- Payment for the first official breed association type classification of all PT-sired daughters and their herdmates
In return for all of these financial benefits, ABS asks you for the following:
- Calving ease difficulty reported on each PT calf born
- Official classification scores of PT daughters
- Official DHIA production records on PT daughters
- Photo/tour options of your outstanding PT daughters
