Service Overview
ABS Australia provides on-farm herd recording services across western and northern Victoria as well as all parts of South Australia. All samples are evaluated at our laboratory in Kyabram utilising the MISTRO software platform.

Services
On-Farm
Our field staff is committed to excellence in herd recording service and customer satisfaction. Trained couriers provide a timely delivery and pick-up service direct to our client herds with an emphasis on equipment cleanliness and quality. Some areas of Western Victoria are equipped with Electronic Milk Meters to streamline the sampling process. All regions offer electronic ID options. Sub-sampling of milk samples is performed in Terang, Yankalilla, Mt. Gambier and Kyabram. For more information contact your local centre today.
Laboratory Testing
The ABS laboratory is the most modern in the industry and processes over 1.3 million milk samples annually. Client data provided includes milk volume, butterfat, protein and somatic cell scoring – critical information to make important herd management decisions. The laboratory operates 12 hours per day to accommodate milk samples coming in from across the country; processing samples through two COMBI machines which are the most modern developments in milk testing equipment.
Data Processing
ABS Australia employs three full-time staff to accurately process herd recording data and deliver results to our clients. This team of trained professionals is dedicated to provide 24 hour turnaround time on results and prompt follow-up on customer concerns. Herd results are generated using the MISTRO software and can be delivered by email, fax, or post.
