ABS TECHNICAL SERVICES MEET WITH UW-MADISON DAIRY AND VETERINARY SCIENCE DEPARTMENTSDEFOREST, WISCONSIN – June 24, 2008 – An information packed day was shared by ABS Global and the UW-Madison Dairy and Vet Science Departments in mid-May. The focus was to update each other on various projects and identify natural points for collaboration. ABS team members shared the company’s direction in sales, growth and new tools being utilized. Early discussion focused on recruitment opportunities and the changing demographics of today’s Dairy Science student. “It is important to understand how many of the current students are not coming from traditional agriculture backgrounds and may have a limited knowledge of the vast variety of what opportunities are available to them,” stated Dr. Neil Michael, Director of ABS Technical Services. The UW-Madison Dairy and Vet Science Departments addressed the group, updating attendees on projects they have been working on. Topics presented included milk quality education, testing methods for Ketosis, crossbreeding fertility, cow comfort transition cow index and synchronization.
