ABS Australia thanks the cattle breeders of Australia for making ABS Australia the number one beef semen sales AI company in Australia.
The Angus Society report of January 2011 placed Ardrossan Admiral A2 as the number one registration sire in the breed for the third year in a row. This was the sixth year in a row ABS Australia has marketed the number one Angus registration sire. The report also had ABS Australia marketed bulls in 3rd, 7th, 8th & 9th spots and having 55% of the breed registrations in the top 10 bulls.
2010/11 has seen ABS Australia continue to invest and place bulls in every available progeny test program available in Australia; such is our belief in progeny testing and performance recording.
The ABS Australia motto of 'Investing Locally, Thinking Globally' has never been truer with semen from 9 breeds being exported to over 15 countries. Also, ABS Australia joined with Murdeduke Agriculture and Aberdeen Estate to purchase Te Mania Emperor E343 for an Australian Angus auction record of $91,000.
ABS Australia's quest to provide breeders with the best possible AI and synchronisation advice continued, with two US visits to Dr Rick Funston, University of Nebraska. In April, ABS co-hosted a seminar tour with Southern Cross Genetics and Pfizer, with Dr Funston as the keynote speaker.
Globally, ABS Genus is the number one beef semen company in the world, dominating in the UK, USA and Brazil, as well as Australia.
