With farm operation costs continuing to rise, farmers are benefiting from the savings associated with no dehorning when using these polled sires.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABS Global Australian Business Operations Manager Bruce Ronalds said strong local demand for bulls that \u201ctick all the boxes\u201d has shaped ABS\u2019 strategic matings, delivering a new generation of high-performing polled sires.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have four polled bulls over 500 Balanced Performance Index (BPI), so there\u2019s no excuse for not having polled,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no compromise on profit, production or health traits, while reducing the cost of disbudding.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Ronalds said new sires Denovo 23176&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO22185\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">HIGHFERT-PP-ET<\/a>&nbsp;and Denovo 21598&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO21994\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">HAYWARD-PP<\/a>&nbsp;were the result of targeted breeding for the Australian market.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cABS identified a high-ranking genomic overseas cow, strategically mated her to the highest polled bull&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO21056\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">ESTATE PP<\/a>&nbsp;and we got exactly what we needed \u2013 and most importantly \u2013 what the industry wanted,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ELLIS-PP, at 485 BPI and 61 daughters across eight milking herds, was the original polled Holstein to deliver the complete breeding package.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Farmers embraced him as a genomic sire years ago \u2013 and he has since become Australia\u2019s biggest-selling polled Holstein.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ELLIS-PP excelled in Daughter Fertility, Production and Health. Now, with an additional 34 BPI points and a lift to 115 in Daughter Fertility, the arrival of milking daughter data is confirming his genomic predictions and delivering profit on-farm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.absglobal.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2025\/08\/Brian-Enbom-ABS.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5093\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">ABS Representative Brian Enbom with Roy Opray, South Gippsland.&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>South Gippsland farmer Roy Opray is among those seeing the results, now milking nine ELLIS PP daughters in his herd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019s been impressed with their nature \u2013 how quiet they are in his 230-240-cow herd \u2013 their udders, teat length and general structure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we picked ELLIS PP we were looking at Calving Ease, Temperament, Teat Length and \u2013 the main thing \u2013 that he was polled,\u201d Roy said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHaving polled animals means it\u2019s just one less job to do at a time of the year when it\u2019s always busy.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An avid user of sexed and polled genetics \u2013 with a focus on breeding for Calving Ease and black animals \u2013 he\u2019s used ELLIS-PP again and bulls including ESTATE-PP, DENOVO 19187&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO21036\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">EMPORIA- P-ET<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO18698\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">JERONIMO-P-ET<\/a>&nbsp;and BOMAZ&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO21450\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">POMPEII-PP-ET<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roy reared 99 heifers this year and only 29 had horns \u2013 something he\u2019s pleased about as it cuts his workload and costs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those looking for the next new polled genetics, HIGHFERT PP at 539 BPI and HAYWARD PP at 522 BPI are full brothers sired by DENOVO 4798 ESTATE-PP-ET at 528 BPI, but unlike ESTATE-PP, HIGHFERT and HAYWARD are A2 carriers and offer elite daughter fertility.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WARATAH&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO22291\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">OBERON- P<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 the Gippsland-bred son of ELLIS PP \u2013 has risen to number four on the ABV genomic ranking at 574 BPI, adding important gains in Survival, Daughter Fertility and Mastitis Resistance.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High Daughter Fertility sire&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO19796\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">CHAD PP<\/a>&nbsp;at BPI 518 rounds out the top performers and continues to add daughters to his Australian proof.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the proven space, farmer favourite ABS JERONIMO P still hold strong in the top 4 Australian proven sires at 457 BPI and has never dropped out of the top 5 since becoming proven in Aug 2021. Hoogerhorst Dg Oh&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29HO17459\/D\/AUS\/HO\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">RUBLES RED<\/a>&nbsp;is still the number one Australian proven for type and is now number 6 Australian proven.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jerseys-shine-for-fertility-health-and-polled-power-nbsp\"><strong>JERSEYS SHINE FOR FERTILITY, HEALTH AND POLLED POWER&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Locally-bred and farmer favourite bull Kaarmona Jeronimo BRADY (<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29JE4522\/D\/AUS\/JE\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">CSCBRADY<\/a>) continues his dominance of the Australian Breeding Values genomic Jersey rankings, maintaining his position at number one after 18 months.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.absglobal.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2025\/08\/Kaarmona-Invincible-Babe-323.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5094\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Dam of the farmer favorite CSCBRADY, Kaarmona Invincible Babe 323 EX-93 MAX<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At 445 Balanced Performance Index (BPI) he hasn\u2019t changed, despite many bulls around him shifting positions and even disappearing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABS Global Australian Business Operations Manager Bruce Ronalds said BRADY\u2019s consistency was a testament to the bull, cow families and his pedigree.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a consistent bull and that suits the Australian market,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s why we \u2013 ABS in partnership with Central Sires Co-Op \u2013 chased him so hard, he\u2019s positive for components, high survival, elite type and udders but when it all boils down, he continues to hold his place and that\u2019s crucial.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Balnageith JANGO P (<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29JE4393\/D\/AUS\/JE\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">CSCJANGO P<\/a>) has started adding daughters into Australian herds and at 386 BPI, he\u2019s the number two polled genomic Jersey bull in the country. With 10 daughters across three herds, he\u2019s demonstrating why farmers select him to breed for Survival, Production, Polled and A2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New, Western Victorian- bred bull Miami HEATHSTAR (<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29JE4630\/D\/AUS\/JE\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">CSCHEATHSTAR<\/a>) at 333 BPI is becoming a favourite for farmers wanting to improve health traits and is a huge 107 for Daughter Fertility.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Global Jersey bull Cal-Mart&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/29JE4305\/D\/AUS\/JE\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">JAMMER<\/a>&nbsp;is the new number 1 JPI proven sire and also has increased to 385 BPI after adding daughters locally and overseas. High for milk and components \u2013 unique for the Jersey breed \u2013 he also covers many bases at 108 Mastitis Resistance and 103 Daughter Fertility. Used heavily as a \u2018sire of sons\u2019 for overseas ABS markets, JAMMER provides some outcross for the Australian market as he doesn\u2019t have any VALENTINO in his pedigree.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-top-ranked-red-bull-arrives-in-australia-nbsp\"><strong>TOP-RANKED RED BULL ARRIVES IN AUSTRALIA&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The highest ranked Red bull in Norway has just hit Australian shores, entering the Australian market at 218 Balanced Performance Index (BPI).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.absglobal.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2025\/08\/Norwegian-Red-Laupen-PP.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5095\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">ABS Global Australia\u2019s newest Norwegian Red sire Laupen PP<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>NR&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/absbullsearch.absglobal.com\/details\/bull\/652NR12391\/D\/AUS\/NR\/EN\/USA\/AUS?source=search\">LAUPEN PP<\/a>&nbsp;was sourced for the local market by ABS Australia because of his high ranking on the Norway Total Merit breeding index at 52 TM.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABS Global Australian Business Operations Manager Bruce Ronalds explained he holds this position because of his positive health traits, good udders and elite production.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe selected him because of his ranking on the Total Merit index, but we also know there\u2019s a lot of red breeders looking for homozygous polled \u2013 double P \u2013 bulls,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis August was his first genomic proof in Australia and with his milk and components he\u2019s ranked fairly well here \u2013 like he did in Norway \u2013 but once his health traits come through Interbull, we suspect he will lift on BPI. In Australia, the BPI for Reds only considers production traits but we know how important health traits are.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABS Global again has the top five Red bulls based on Fertility and the only three true polled \u2013 homozygous polled \u2013 Reds in the Good Bulls Guide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Farmer favourite and big production sire,&nbsp;<a
