Ground-breaking Research: Proving the Value of Genetic Improvement<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are proud to have completed the industry\u2019s first comprehensive beef-on-dairy (BxD) Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)<\/a> to uncover the impact of genetics on sustainability. An LCA is the gold standard in evaluating environmental performance<\/strong> and assesses every stage of a product\u2019s life.\u202f<\/strong>\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed according to International Standards Organization (ISO) guidelines and reviewed by a panel of experts, our LCAs were carried out by a leading independent consultancy, as part of an Innovate UK project, and included input from specialists at top universities in the US, Canada, and Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-funded by Innovate UK<\/a> and DEFRA, in partnership with Scotland\u2019s Rural College (SRUC)<\/a>, the Climate Smart Genetics project is at the forefront of developing innovative ways to measure and reduce the environmental impact of beef production.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NuEra Genetics<\/strong>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>: The Future of Sustainable Protein<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Using real-world performance data from more than 60,000 BxD animals in US and UK commercial systems, the assessments show that using Genus ABS\u2019 proprietary NuEra Genetics leads to higher growth rates, reduced inputs, enhanced feed conversion, and a measurable reduction in emissions intensity. The results reveal that with a targeted genetic improvement program, farmers can reduce emissions intensity by up to 9% per year\u2014all by choosing the right genetics.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
