District Business Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Beef team for District Business Manager position in Kansas.

  • Develops and leads the implementation of sales and business strategy for the assigned area of responsibility so as to best optimize profitability and market share.
  • Attain District sales and profit goals through effective, geographically-specific marketing and promotional programs.
  • Ensure teams are actively seeking out, developing and managing new business in order to take full advantage of opportunities.
  • Understand all features and capabilities of ABS products and services and be able to communicate them to the customer Maintain current customer information in CRM.
  • Work with technical experts to leverage resources.
  • Attract, recruit and develop successful management, sales and service personnel.
  • When necessary, assist sales force with customer and business management issues.
  • Consistently and objectively evaluate overall performance and take corrective action when needed.
  • Measure skill and technical competency in order to coach and set development plans.
  • Procure and report data on customers of competing AI organizations for the purpose of future business development.
  • Take ownership of objectives through pro-active leadership of sales and management activities.
  • Ensure current Sales and Market Planners are in place for all sales personnel.
  • Accurately complete and submit travel and expense reports within the guidelines provided by the Financial Services Department.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales reports or progress toward established goals on a monthly basis or when specifically requested. Manage expenses, inventory, accounts receivable, and company assets within established guidelines.
  • Provide timely response to voice mail, email, fax and requests for information.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers via professional and respectful interaction.
  • Continuously advance your skills and display a willingness to accept ongoing development activities.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness or related field. (Exceptional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement)
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable sales and marketing experience, preferably in the agriculture industry.
  • Up to 90% travel may be required
  • Valid Driver’s License
