Genetic Services Manager EMEA

Genus ABS EMEA is looking for Genetic Services Manager EMEA, who develops and delivers a strategy to create ABS EMEA value through effective deployment of genetic service resources and utilisation of industry related phenotypic and genetic data across business operations. This role harnesses superior analytical skills using expertise within genetics and computer science to build value orientated propositions with ABS partners, to ensure ABS resources are positioned to exceed the evolving needs of the market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Applies advanced skills to the position or specialization
  2. Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline; managing people and resources working within the EMEA Genetic Services team ensuring objectives and development plans are in place whilst supervising daily activities
  3. Identify the ABS EMEA Genetic Services strategy as a component of the EMEA Technical and Genetic Services strategy.
  4. Engage with internal Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Digital Services, EMEA & ABS Leadership and external stakeholders to prioritise key projects and resource requirements
  5. Adapts resources, procedures, processes, tools/equipment and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position
  6. Define business critical data sources, flows and outputs to deliver value for customers and ABS through services, products and tools
  7. Leads engagement with internal global ABS partners to influence data management with a focus on value creation
  8. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; present findings to business leaders to shape development priorities
  9. Manage & support the design and delivery of any new proprietary offerings across the EMEA field teams

REQUIREMENTS

TravelWilling and able to travel in and around region/territory with limited global travel
EducationSpecialist sector based PhD preferable
Licenses/CertificationsFull driving license
ExperienceDemonstrable experience of working within the agriculture industry harnessing genetic expertiseAdvanced level knowledge of statistical analysis software, strong SQL and relational database architecture skillsAdvanced bovine genetic knowledgePrevious experience of people management and growing talent
