Core Role Purpose

  • Key purpose is to conduct pre- implementation and training for dairy management software for customer use
  • Work under direction of Technical Services Manager EMEA to support growth of Data Management Platform with a focus on customer experience
  • Work with/in-coordination with the installation consultant to deliver working data platform to the customer
  • Support development of Genus ABS Data Management Platform knowledge and value proposition

Role and Responsibilities

  • Active role in software implementation with focus on pre-installation phase
  • Work closely with Genus ABS colleagues and customer support staff to understand farm before farm visit
  • Import farms into Data platform Genus ABS uses (or delegate to others)
  • Data Cleaning and Validation (or delegate to others)
  • Setup Protocol and App
  • Documentation and communication of setup to installation consultant
  • Daily discussion with installation consultant to refine and alter the initial setup to match the farm’s needs
  • Responsible for making most of the modifications in the first couple weeks after initial setup
  • Work with support staff to provide the necessary modification for new farms
  • Schedule follow-up calls with farm manager or herdsman for two weeks to ensure satisfaction and find any desired changes. Then make those changes.
  • Train customer and Genus ABS users in how to use data platforms
  • Build rapport and relationships with customers and employees
  • Work with support staff to provide the necessary support to your customers
  • Further your knowledge in dairy management to stay up-to-date and provide relevant answers to your customers
  • Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by your line manager

Key requirements/qualifications

  • Highly skilled in the suite of Microsoft Applications
  • Developed skills in IT software development and programme applications
  • Experience in dairy herd management, large herd experience desired
  • Experience with at least one dairy herd management software program (i.e. DC305, UNIFORM, DairyPlan, Farm Wizard)
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Developed knowledge transfer and training skills
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple account relationships and implementations
  • Ability to work under own initiative as well as taking direction from key stakeholders
  • Provide complete visibility on work activity and share amongst key stakeholders
  • Flexible working hours to meet customers needs

Education and experience


  • A-Level or BTEC level 3 in Sciences, Agriculture or Information Technology


  • Degree in Agriculture Management or IT
