Regional Business Manager (Cumbria & Scotland)

We’re looking for a Regional Business Manager to join the Cumbrian and Scottish team who is capable of driving profitable growth through genetics and product sales and effective leadership of the Sales & Breeding Advisors.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managing the Sales & Breeding Advisors to deliver year on year growth
  • Ride-outs with each member of the sales staff team at least 8 times a year
  • Identify those current potential high value customers and develop a plan to maximise that value
  • Responsible  for the P&L, maximise the region profitability by a combination of revenue growth, margin enhancement and effective cost management
  • Working with the Service Director to efficiently service customers and increase the returns on the service business
  • As part of the senior GB leadership team, develop the strategy for ensuring an 8% growth in Operating Profit  year on year
  • Successfully deliver to agreed KPI’s
  • Overall responsibility for managing customer accounts within region
  • Help to develop  and promote effective working relationships between Service Managers’ and SBA’s to maximise profitability
  • To align the sales force in line with the customer segmentation – right people going up right drives in most efficient and effective manner
  • Role is 80% Sales /Customer focussed
  • Delivery of business growth through sales of genetics and products
  • Represent Genus products, services and people to customers, both internal and external, and key industry stakeholders
  • Promote the business and products as required at shows, sales and through organising promotions
  • Clear understanding and support of the service business strategy within a designated region
  • Support the Service Managers to introduce new customers to RMS service
  • Identify prospects and work with the Sales & Breeding Advisors to develop relationships and individual strategies, resulting in additional sales and business growth
  • Management of Sales & Breeding Advisors through appraisals/ training/ development/ performance management and coaching: resulting in the up-skilling of the workforce delivering increased capability and contributions to the business
  • Lead the training & development of  Sales & Breeding Advisors , ensure and demonstrate that the maximum benefit is gained from that investment
  • Regularly review individual Sales & Breeding Advisors’ delivery against dashboard targets to ensure business is on track to achieve objectives and KPI’s
  • Review reward schemes for commission and bonus annually in conjunction with line manager
  • Willingness to be involved/assist in key projects
  • Work continuously with all support functions, including but not limited to Finance, IT, Marketing, HR and Health and Safety
  • Actively participate in meetings as required
  • Ensure all necessary Health & Safety and mandatory training modules are completed in line with annual company timescales
  • To maintain a high level of customer service within the area, by presenting a professional image, including the maintenance and cleanliness of Company vehicles and equipment and to comply with the Company’s hygiene regulations at all times
  • Take personal responsibility for ensuring that the Company’s Health and Safety Regulations are complied with at all times, both from a personal and team perspective- taking care not to place yourself in a position likely to endanger your safety or well-being both on farm and when driving company vehicles
