St. Jacobs Animal Breeding Corporation Awards Calf in Fall Promotional Contest

Klinedell Farms of Myerstown, Pa. was recently awarded a St. Jacobs ABC‐sired calf as part of a fall promotional giveaway in the eastern United States.

In the fall, customers were entered in a drawing for every $250 of STJ semen purchased for an opportunity to win a June 2011 calf from EX‐96 Tri‐Day Ashlyn sired by 94HO14758 MASTERPIECE. The contest was a huge success, with over 400 entries collected. The winner of the calf was drawn at the customer meeting held in Lancaster County, Pa., in January. Nearly 600 customers were in attendance.

Klinedell Farms looks forward to working with their 2012 show prospect. The family has a 100‐cow Registered Holstein herd that focuses on type, in addition to 30 Jerseys. The Kline family farms 500 acres and sons Jacob and Jason are very involved in the farm. They also enjoy showing at local and regional shows in Pennsylvania, and Jacob plans to show their new MASTERPIECE calf in 2012 at the Junior Holstein shows. The family’s ABS sales representative is Jeff Peifer.

Due to an incredible amount of support in the contest, STJ added an additional drawing for 100 units of STJ semen. Brouillette Farms and Hannes Waibel in Richford, Vt., were named the lucky winners of these units. Brouillette Farms’ ABS representative is Bill Flick.

St. Jacobs ABC would like to extend a thank you to those in the east that helped make this promotion such a success.
